On Rediscovering my College Blog

The other morning around 4:30am I discovered my blog from college. I was on tumblr, looking through posts, and clicked on the home button. It took me to my posts from college. They were funny, and I realized how much I have changed, really, how much my life has changed. My posts in college were about finding a job, a husband, and what my life would look like after graduation.

Its been 4 years since I graduated, and my life looks so much different than I ever thought it would.

Honestly I guess thinking back to it, I thought my life would look perfect. Doesn't everyone? We make these beautiful plans for our lives. Sometimes they work out, but most times they don't. College Kelly was a hot mess. I just didn't know it then. I fully embrace it now. I fully embrace that I have no idea what in the world I am doing.

There is blue paint on my freshly painted gel manicure. I've been doing some projects in my house and my office, as I am preparing for my staff to arrive in August. It's supposed to get to 100 degrees this week, but I won't complain. It's nothing like the Texas humidity I experienced a few weeks back.

I took a trip to Texas to visit my sister in Dallas. We went to Magnolia Market and did all things the Texas way. I took an hour to poof and tease my hair, only it have it frizz the second I walked out the door due to the humidity. I pretended to be Joanna Gaines and bought my life savings worth in clothes and home decor that almost did not fit in my bag on the way home. Thank you southwest for 2 free bags. There will be extra jewels on your crown in heaven.

Deep down there is a part of me that believes my mom and dad missed the boat by not raising us girls in Texas. I am a southern girl at heart. I like country music, I love sweet tea and fried food ( hello, who doesn't) and I love curling my hair and  teasing it to the high heavens to be close to Jesus, obviously.  I like the fact that people are so friendly in Texas, and while it may be a fake friendly, I'll take it. Every man held the door open for me, and I got a few comments on how cute my clothes were.. thank you Megan (my personal fashion assistant.)

Speaking of Megan, she is literally one of my favorite humans. She is funny,  she is beautifully 100% herself. She is a hard worker, and she enjoys the fruit of her labor with cute clothes and expensive makeup, which means that I also benefit from her hard work with all the freebies I get handed down from her, Shannon too. I mean I have Kendra Scott earrings and a Kate Spade purse that they both decided they didn't want anymore. WHAT? who does that? My sisters, and Lord I love them for it.

I will just continue to send them bible verse text messages as a thank you, since I don't have any extra Kendra Scott, or Kate Spade's laying around.

Speaking of Shannon, she got married this summer. Excuse me. Shannon is no longer Shannon Leonard. She is Shannon Pyburn. What. in the ACTUAL HECK? Weren't we like 5 years old yesterday playing in our barbie jeeps? It was a beautiful (hot) day. I'll post some pictures below.

Anyways. I am over the summer time. I'm ready for fall, and scarves, and pumpkin spice EVERYTHING. I am just ready for it okay?

I would normally post what the Lord is teaching me in this particular moment in time, but right now I don't know what He is doing. I know He is close and His presence is real. I know He loves me, I know He has good plans for me, and to those promises, I will cling for dear life. For everything there is a season, a reason for everything under the sun. I guess I'm back to where I was 4 years ago, not knowing what He holds for me next. He was faithful then, He will be faithful now, and I will just cling to my God who has never, ever failed me.

Below are some photos from my old blog that I thought you would appreciate, then photos from Texas with meg, and a few photos from the wedding :)
